how to install printer drivers Canon iP1980 in Ubuntu 10.10

Install the package libcupsys2 first before installing iP1900 printer driver. Libcupsys2 package can be downloaded from here. then install as usual through the debian installer (double click).

Then:

download driver canon for linux here
after that:

1. extract iP1900_debian_printer.tar to the folder with the name iP1900_debian_printer and put on home folders
2. open terminal, type
3. $ cd iP1900_debian_printer/
4. continue to type anymore
5. sudo dpkg -i *.deb
6. wait until completion, continue to type:
7. sudo apt-get -f install
8. completed
